Yes, yes, I know. It’s been an embaressing amount of time since the last post on here, and I really do need to get in to the swing of updating this site at least once a day. Little things like starting a new job, and sorting out my servers so a gust of wind doesn’t bring down my email have been a priority!

Anyway. There will be an article on here later TODAY, I promise!!!

WordPress is full of WIN

OK, so I said in the last post that I’ve been sitting on by rear end for years, not putting this site back online again.

Want to know when I started work on this new version? Today!

Seriously, WordPress is pretty damn amazing. OK, I had some issues getting things working at first (ARGH! STUPID APACHE! ), but everything you see here was put together with honestly not very much effort! (What do you mean it shows?! )

And so, digiLOOK.net is now coming to you from a shiny new Linux server (which is going to crumble under its own weight if we ever get a decent number of visitors, but that’s to worry about later!), virtualised on top of the awesomeness which is VMware Server (seriously, I can’t get enough of this virtualisation lark). Note to self: Write article on my server ecosystem, and how VMware is helping to keep the costs way down!

In other news, you’ll probably have noticed by now that I haven’t got much in the way of branding on the site yet! Or indeed any at all. Well, that’s coming soon, just as soon as I work out how to… um…. well…. have any form of artistic skill.

Seriously, is anyone out there handy with photoshop, who might want to spruce up the old dL logo from yesteryear? Let me know in the comments!

O HAI!

Welcome to digiLOOK.net! Again.

Yes, yes, I know. I know this site has been due to be “coming back soon” for well over a year now. And I know it was well over a year before that it closed down.

But we’re BACK!!!! YAYETH!

digiLOOK.net (dL to its friends) is here again but this time we’re here as a technology blog with a difference! I don’t know about you, but I’m sick to death of certain sites (which will remain nameless) which are incredibly good at telling one side of the story, but pretty lousy at telling the other.

digiLOOK is not a PC blog. It’s not a Mac blog. It’s not a Linux blog. It’s not a PlayStation blog, it’s not a Nintendo blog, and it’s not an Xbox blog. It’s none of these, but somehow manages to be all of them too! (And a few other things, I hope…)

digiLOOK.net is a 100% fanboy-free zone, with real views on real technology which happens to exist in the real world!
